Who are we?
We are Zoybooks: an independent children’s book publishing company making books with you and your child in mind! We believe that reading-time is a special time that should be fun, engaging, and easy for both your budding reader and you and we strive to make products that support that belief! Currently manned by a small-but-mighty team of four, all of what we make we make with passion, creativity, and intention. We are committed to a company and community culture that prioritizes quality care for our customers, products, and environment.
Meet the Team
Kyung Min
CEO
Kyung Min, a graduate in Illustration & Design from the University of the Arts, began his career in Product Design, leading creative teams as a Director. Despite his success, he always dreamed of illustrating children's books, a passion that grew after reading to his two daughters. Now, as the founder of Zoybooks, he creates engaging, interactive books that bring joy to kids and make reading fun and easy for parents.
Johnny Lee
COO
Johnny, brings 16 years of experience in consumer product design and over 20 years of volunteering with children. At Zoybooks, he combines his expertise in design and print production with his passion for helping young minds grow—an endeavor inspired daily by his five-year-old daughter, G.
Melody Yoo
Illustrator
Melody, a former K-2 teacher with a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (UD Honors) and a master's in Reading & Literacy (Johns Hopkins), blends her love of art and education as an illustrator at Zoybooks. Drawing from her teaching experience, she creates engaging, playful, and interactive reading experiences that foster learning and connection. A lifelong fan of picture books and cartoons, she hopes to craft charming stories that both kids and adults will love.
What do we do?
Here at Zoybooks, we make sure our publications are made with creativity, care, and intention. Our books are designed to be read WITH your child, not TO them, so many of them incorporate various interactive elements that allow your child to participate actively in the experience. Each book also comes with its own user guidance card, demonstrating how the book’s interactive pieces work, as well as offering suggestions for activities and extension of skills beyond the reading itself.
Why do we do it?
Our team is made up of a group of devoted parents and educators who believe strongly in the value of embedding play within learning. Research shows that incorporating play and hands-on engagement with learning increases retention and enjoyment! That’s why, with each book from our publication, we aim to deliver these one-of-a-kind experiences that are memorable, meaningful, joyful, and have your child coming back for more.
